According to the CSO (Central Statistics Office) statistics publishing in Dec 2015, Internat access and usage continues to grow in Ireland as does ECommerce.
By 2015 85% of households had internet access – an increase from 72% five years earlier.
While Email and Internet Banking remained the most common activities online, shopping continues to grow – especially in the younger age groups. 31% of individuals surveyed had purchased Clothes or Sports Goods online in the previous 3 months. Other ECommerce Sectors such as Ticket Purchases for Events and Hotel Accommodation Bookings continue to grow and are on target to overtake offline bookings.
